Whether Soaring Like An Eagle Or Busy As A Bee
Serving My Lord Brings Joy To Me

The Joy Of Serving

The joy of serving is more than I ever expected there would be,
but that goes to show how much God loves you and me.

Not only to allow us in His work to take part,
but then to cause that work to put joy in our heart.

What an awesome loving Lord we serve,
one who does more for us than we ever deserve.

A Lord who was willing to die for our sin,
and make us anew when we invite Him in.

One who is our strength and our guide,
one who promises forever that within He'll abide.

One who deserves to be honored above every other,
yet considers us each a sister or brother.

One who could have ended it all with one simple word,
but one from whom not one complaint was heard.

What an honor is bestowed on you and me,
as we are allowed to serve our Lord jubilantly.

The joy of serving is something I treasure,
it is a joy simply beyond measure.

When I'm Not Serving God

When I'm not giving God my very best, I feel
so empty and filled with distress.

There was a time I'd have found that odd, but way
back then I didn't know God.

I lived my life in such a way, as to find some
pleasure in each and every day.

I seldom thought of others at all, whether or not
they needed a friend on whom to call.

Whether their souls were saved or lost, I myself
didn't comprehend what it cost.

I'd heard of God and that He is the Father, and
believed if I were to be saved I must try harder.

Attend a Church and be kind to my fellow man,
no one had ever explained the Salvation Plan.

No one had said I couldn't do the work, that to
even attempt it made me appear a jerk.

Aha but then my eyes were opened and I could see,
salvation is a gift and it is given for free.

I went on to discover that the changing takes place inside,
now least anyone of us swell up with pride.

All the work is done by the Holy Spirit, if we listen
for His guiding voice we are sure to hear it.

We must surrender to Him every day we live, and offer
our complete co-operation to give.

To let Him make us into what we were intended to be,
so we can serve Our Father competently.

When I'm not serving God it causes me distress,
it lowers my self esteem and dims my happiness.

I'm Waiting To Serve

I'm waiting to serve till I know what I am to do,
does this statement apply to you?

Are you waiting till you know without a doubt,
that what you attempt will all work out.

Are you waiting before you serve, to know that you have
been given enough nerve?

Are you waiting to ask God to heal, until someone's cure
He has been able to reveal.

Is it unworthiness that is making you wait, or is fear
of reaction making you hesitate?

Procrastination is a tool of the enemy, one we use but
aren't able to see.

We allow ourselves to have worry and doubt, forgetting
that Jesus has it all worked out.

We must be bold and use what gifts we've got, not give
in to worry over those we have not.

If we are faithful in few we are told, we'll be given
more as the followers of old.

Take your one talent and put it to the test, God will
be pleased and give you the rest.

Do whatever it is God asks of you, and before you know
it your one talent will be two.

So stop procrastinating rebuke that sin, start using
your gift to bring more sheep in.

Depending on what God has planned for you, that is what
decides if your gifts are many or few.

I'm waiting to serve will no longer be on your mind, because
you'll be too busy using all of the gifts you'll find.
